MASVINGO CITY-On 14 February, KwaFikie Restaurant (behind Express Energy) turned into a warm little world of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories as it hosted a special Valentine’s Dinner from 5pm to 10pm.

As the sun dipped and the evening settled in, 14 couples arrived, dressed to impress, smiling brightly, and ready to celebrate love.

The atmosphere was romantic and welcoming, with soft lights, sweet décor, and a feeling that something special was about to happen.

The night began with a delicious buffet that gave guests the freedom to choose what they loved most.

For starters, couples enjoyed a comforting choice between mushroom soup and chicken kebabs, setting the perfect tone for the meal ahead.

When it came to the main course, the buffet was full and generous.

There was mashed potatoes, fried basmati rice, fresh chips, and traditional sadza, a combination that catered to every taste.

The meat section was the highlight for many, offering a mouthwatering variety of beef T-bone, coated chicken, fish fillet, and sizzling braai sausages.

Fresh salads were also available, adding balance and flavour to the plates.

And just when everyone thought it couldn’t get better, dessert was served: strawberry ice cream, sweet and refreshing.

To top it all off, guests enjoyed free red wine, making the evening even more special.

After dinner, the mood shifted from romantic dining to playful fun as all couples took part in love games, filling the restaurant with laughter, cheering, and friendly competition.

The games brought everyone closer, not only to their partners, but to the entire KwaFikie Valentine’s family for the night.

Once the games ended, the evening continued with sweet live music from Trust, KwaFikie’s talented guitarist.

He performed for two full hours, and his smooth, romantic set gave couples a chance to relax, hold hands, and enjoy the moment.

Then came one of the most unforgettable highlights of the night.

One female guest, who requested to remain anonymous, was completely surprised by her boyfriend in front of everyone.

He gifted her a bouquet of cash, a present, and ensured her entire meal was taken care of.

To make it even more emotional, he requested a special song from the guitarist, and as Trust played, the restaurant fell into a beautiful silence, watching love unfold in its purest form.

As the night wore on, the owner of the restaurant, Mollay Fikile Hungwe, expressed gratitude and pride for the successful event.

“As we opened less than a month before Valentine’s Day, we are happy for the support and we hope to continue with our standards so as to make sure our clients are satisfied as our theme states, ‘Where every bite belongs.’”

KwaFikie Restaurant’s first Valentine’s Dinner was more than just a meal, it was an experience of love, music, surprises, and togetherness.

And for the 14 couples who attended, it was a night they will remember for a very long time.
