Jimmy Mugiya: Innocent Jimmiel Mugiya
When I was young. I used to sing in Sunday school (church: Member of Christ). But by that time I wasn’t confident to lead songs.
I would practice leading those songs at home and my mother and my aunty used to help me by backing whenever I would start singing at home. When my parents migrated from Mazvihwa,Zvishavane to Mberengwa that’s when I missed Member of Christ Church for Zion . By then, Zion had no concentration in Sunday choirs so I had no progress till I went to Chegato High School to attend my academic lessons(2016 Form 1). During form 1, I came up with an idea of a choral group which ran to 2017 as fellow mefellow couldn’t continue to 2018 you know boys and girls when they start noticing they are grown ups.
In 2018, I joined Divine Truth Choir in which I gained more experience in leading songs and became more confident, with the help of Bright Zhou, Silas Shanapinuka and all other members. Mostly I would be the main lead backup vocalist. Fellow students began to believe in me and some would come to join with me to sing during Youth services. That same year , was the same I firstly visited a music studio with Bright Zhou to drop a recording of Ndinomira naBaba the first of Divine Truth Choir record led by Bright Zhou.
During my Form 4 holiday vacation(2019), we attended an ELCZ National Conference which was held at our school. That’s when I first performed before more than 5000 people with the help of fellow f4 and f6 students with whom we had formed a choir with. That is when I received some funds as gifts or appreciation to my performance ( Song title: Ndinomira naBaba by Bright Zhou).
I proceeded to A level at Chegato High School and continued the work of God. In 2021 I was the Choir Master of Divine Truth at the same time the headboy of the big school. Divine Truth would perform in church youth services and Adults service and during school Assemblies. Some teachers encouraged me to record my own songs e.g mr Chimwanda, Mr Maphosa who introduced me to guitar and some musical instruments like flutes , marimba though I were not good at playing them.
It was always our wish as Divine Truth Choir to record and preach the gospel to the world. I started recording my first Track in May 2021, Titled: Mwari wangu Cheukai produced by Cholla B[ Charles Mapfumo @Massives Productions]

My second Track was released in January 2022.

Currently we are working towards another Track with Bright Zhou Titled Guta DzvenDzvene moreover Nzira Yekudenga with Minister Marvelous
And Kusatenda video is also being processed.
It’s my wish to be somewhere higher one day and promise to continue preaching the gospel. As for collaborations, it’s my wish to sing with anyone who wants to preach the gospel. And I don’t think even if I become popular it will be necessary to make other artists pay for collaborations. Bcoz it’s my wish that God’s word be spread with every effort I can.
