MASVINGO CITY-The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has set Saturday, September 13 as the day of the by-election for Masvingo Urban ward 7 which fell vacant following the death of Cllr Tafara Masimba.
On the same day, by-elections will also take place in Marondera Municipality ward 9 and Makonde Rural District Council ward 8 which also fell vacant due to deaths of the incumbents, ZEC said in an election notice according to Electoral Act (Chapter 2:13) signed by chief elections officer, Simbarashe Tongayi.
Tongayi also said the nomination courts will also sit at the respective council centres with Masvingo at the Civic Centre on August 14 from 10am to 4pm.
