Masvingo-Two people died in a traffic accident along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road at the 50km peg on July 10, at approximately 10:30 PM when the driver of a Volvo truck, which was towing two trailers, lost control of the vehicle.
Masvingo Province Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa stated that the driver failed to negotiate a curve and collided with a drum barricade that marked a detour.
As a result of the impact, the truck and its trailers overturned once and landed on the roof.
The driver and his lone passenger, whose next of kin had not yet been notified at the time of reporting, both died instantly as they were trapped inside the wreckage.
The ZRP have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, especially when navigating detours and bends at night.
