MASVINGO CITY-Prominent Masvingo business mogul and philanthropist Tasunungurwa Marisa has brought smiles to the children at Alpha Cottages in Masvingo by donating Christmas clothes and groceries.
In an interview with The Midweek Watch, Marisa said it is in his DNA to give back to the community and assist vulnerable members of the community. He said he feels motivated by sharing with others especially the underprivileged children who cannot afford to work for themselves.
“I am always happy to donate especially to poor children because they can’t afford to work for themselves. During this festive season, we felt it is prudent to share the little that we have with these children. They should feel comforted and have smiles on their faces,” he said.
He pledged to continue supporting the home and help 46 children housed at the age old institution.
Alpha Cottages caretaker Superintendent Chishamiso Lidia Mhizha thanked Marisa for the kind gesture saying the children were going to have the best Christmas.
“Mr Marisa has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the welfare of orphans and vulnerable children at Alpha Cottage Children’s Home. True to his promise of being a father to these children, he has delivered generous Christmas gifts to all 46 children under our care.
“Each child received new clothes and shoes. In addition, Mr Marisa donated Christmas groceries as well as quality pre-loved clothing sourced from Switzerland. This act of kindness has brought immense joy, dignity, and hope to the children, making this festive season truly memorable.
“On behalf of the Alpha Cottage team, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Marisa for his remarkable philanthropic spirit and dedication to transforming young lives. His donation beautifully reflects the true meaning of Christmas—a time when children traditionally look forward to wearing new clothes, sharing meals, and celebrating together. Thanks to his generosity, our children will enjoy Christmas fully, with good food, braai moments, and warm hearts.
“Thank you once again, Mr Marisa. May the Lord Almighty bless you abundantly for your compassion and continued support,” she said.
