ZVISHAVANE-Castle Lager Premier Soccer League reigning champions seek to close the gap on log leaders Highlanders when they play Caps United this Saturday.
The green derby as the match is dubbed will be played at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane and it will be the 22nd match between the two clubs since 2011.
In the previous 21 matches each club has won three matches, drew 13 and lost five.
FC Platinum are chasing a record fifth consecutive title and are currently 10 points off the pace at the summit of the table with log leaders Highlanders who have 41 points from 21 matches, while MaPlatso are on seventh position on the log with 31 points from as many games.
There are still 13 matches to play in the league in the contest of the title race and Maplatso are still in the title mix and they need to pick themselves up against the Green Machine who are five points below on the table.
Caps United come into this match with no win in five matches having lost three games and drew two with the latest result being a draw against Black Rhinos.
Meanwhile Pure Platinum Play have two loses, two draws and a win and they have showed that they up their game when they play big teams as it was the first team to inflict damage on Highlanders this season with a 2-0 win. Their latest result is a 1-1 draw against Bulawayo Chiefs.
