LOWER GWERU-A-47-year old man from lower Gweru was fatally stabbed to death by his neighbor for confronting the suspect’s wife over goats that had strayed into his fields.
The now deceased, Patrick Mutizwa was stabbed with a sharp object after he found assaulting Amos Zvenyika’s wife.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the horrific incident that occurred on June 25, 2023 at around 5pm at Kudzanayi Village under Chief Sogwala in Maboleni.
“Circumstances are that the now deceased Patrick Mutizwa was found assaulting his neighbor’s wife over goats that usually strayed into his field destroying crops. This did not go well with the neighbor Amos Zvenyika, who avenged by assaulting Mutizwa. He alleged to have stabbed him with a sharp object. The latter bled profusely and died the following morning,” said Insp Mahoko.
He added that Mutizwa’s body was ferried to Gweru Provincial Hospital and appealed to members of the public to desist from resorting to violence when solving disputes.
