MIDWEEK REPORTER

In a move that left the Honde Valley community in shock, a man wrote a suicidal message using ashes on the veranda of his house.

George Munyuki (35) of Gwiriri Village under Headman Samanga, Chief Mutasa in Honde Valley left a message inscribed using ashes; ‘Tengesa tsuro undiendese kumusha kwangu’ read the message on the veranda.

Manicaland Province acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Miweek Watch that on 12 September at around 7pm, Munyuki had a misunderstanding with his wife, Violet Nyabawa (25) over use of money.

On their way from shops, Violet left Munyuki by the roadside and went to sleep at a neighbour’s home.

Munyuki later proceeded home.

The following day at around 7am, Violet went home and found the main door locked from inside.

She sought the assistance of her husband’s friend, Martin Mambondiyani (43) to open the door.

Mambondiyani managed to open a window close to the main door and opened the main door.

Violet got into the bedroom and found her husband hanging from a burglar bar in a sitting position.

She reported the matter to ZRP Ruda who attended the scene and ferried the body to Bonda Mission for a postmortem.
