MASVINGO- Farai Madzima is cycling from Harare to Masvingo as a way to attract tourist for the ancient city and Great Zimbabwe Monuments.
Madzima left Harare today March 30 at 4:30am and had arrived in Chivhu around 2pm where he is cycling to Masvingo to showcase the places of tourist attraction in the Province.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Madzima’s friend prominent lawyer Tadiosi Muzoroza said the cyclist trying to attract tourists in Masvingo and raise money for the Mucheke Old People’s Home.
Muzoroza also said the two at one time cycled from Harare to the country’s premier tourist attraction, Mosi oa Tunya aka Victoria Falls as a way of attracting tourists for the country.
“We would have cycled together but I sustained an injury a month ago. The main purpose he is doing this is because he wants to show the world places of attraction in Masvingo like Great Zimbabwe and Lake Mutirikwi.
“This way he is also trying to raise money for the upkeep of elderly people at Mucheke Old People’s Home. However we are able to track his location through a strava that is how we know also if he is ok or not,” said Muzoroza.
Madzima’s final destination will be in Bikita District which is his rural home area.
