Man battling life over $2 airtime

MIDWEEK REPORTER

MUTARE-Hell hath no fury like a man cheated of his $2 for airtime.

This came out clearly when Tichaona Muyambo (31) of no fixed aboard landed a brick on Lovemore Chiwandika’s face for not brining his airtime he had sent him to buy.

Lovemore (42) of Turner Farm, Westgate in Harare is now battling for his life at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital after his face was left disfigured following the brick attack by Tichaona yesterday (22/2/26).

Manicaland province acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that on February 12, the two were in Penhalonga at around 10am when the Tichaona gave Lovemore $2 to buy him airtime.

Lovemore converted the $2 to his personal use and this did not go down well with the accused.

The two later met at Hillview in Dangamvura on Sunday at around 430pm and Tichaona without giving Lovemore a chance picked up a brick and aimed it at Lovemore’s face.

The complainant fell down and became unconscious while bleeding through the nose and mouth.

Benjamin Nyabusha (37) of Linkview in Dangamvura picked up Lovemore and took him to Dangamvura police station where a report was made leading to the arrest of the Tichaona while the victim was taken to VCPH where he is admitted.

Tichaona has since been charged with attempted murder.

Chinyoka urged people to resolve their differences amicably and not to take the law into their hands when aggrieved.
