On April 9, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics unit apprehended Dudzai Chigume, 35, for unlawfully possessing and selling unregistered medicines including sex enhancers and pills claiming to enlarge hips, buttocks, breasts, and penis.
Chigume was arrested at a shop located at number 82 Nkwame Mall, Harare.
According to ZRP National Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the arrest was made following receipt of information, a search of the premises yielded a contraband of unregistered medicines, including sex enhancers and pills claiming to enlarge hips, buttocks, breasts, and penis.
The incident highlights the proliferation in the sale of unregulated and potentially harmful substances in the country.
The ZRP is urging the public to be cautious when purchasing medications and to only use licensed pharmacies and healthcare providers.
