Let’s export value added minerals!

Date:

Botswana President has declared that there is no mineral which will be exported from the country in its raw state. The President ordered that diamonds will be exported as finished products. Its other minerals will be exported as value added products. Zimbabweans must understand the difference between a young, innovative, people centred and democratic loving leader and an old, exhausted and looting mafia leader.

The advantage of having a young innovative leader is that he is thinking about the next generations whilst an old exhausted leader thinks about life after death. One leader is thinking about his children’s Zimbabwe whilst another is busy thinking about his sons’ wealthy. What is the reason for Zimbabwe to export Bikita Mineral lithium as raw? Why do we have to buy a Bikita lithium battery written “Made In China”? Why not set a factory to manufacture batteries at Nyika? We have nothing to show of the Marange /Chiadzwa diamonds because this government allowed the Chinese to loot our diamonds.

Until we change our mindset that our minerals will only be exported as finished product we will be a poor country. The reason why this government is allowing export of raw minerals is to give Zanu PF looters loopholes to continue stealing our future.

If any investors doesn’t want to set industry to manufacture products from our minerals he has to leave our God given minerals intact underground. The minerals underground will remain our wealthy unlike raw minerals exported to China!!”
