Chiredzi- Lowveld Adventist Primary School (LAPS) has recorded a slight decline in its 2025 Grade 7 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council pass rate dropping from 90.4% to 88.4%.

LAPS Head.

The school administration attributes this decline to late exam preparedness which was exacerbated by failure to complete the syllabus on time leaving pupils with little time to revise and the fact that the exams were tougher than the previous year.

According to LAPS Head, Rukuni the students struggled particularly in English, Physical Education and Arts.

Despite this setback he expressed gratitude for the results and praised the teachers for their tireless efforts.

“I am grateful for the results. Our teachers worked very hard to produce these results and I would like to thank them. I also encourage parents to be more involved in their children’s education.” said Rukuni told The Midweek Watch.

Looking ahead the school has already mapped out plans to improve its performance.

“We will be focusing on becoming I.C.T compliant and aim to purchase smartphones for each class to enhance learning,” he added.

A total of 173 learners sat for the exams, 102 were females, 71 were boys with two girls from the school posting 6 units.

The school remains committed to providing quality education and is optimistic about improving its performance in future.
