KWEKWE-A 25- year -old woman from Redcliff in Kwekwe was yesterday sentenced to 15 months imprisonment when she appeared before the Kwekwe Magistrates Court for assaulting a tenant.
According to court proceedings, Mercy Budha (25) on April 27, 2025 accused the victim of handling her gas tank carelessly leading to a confrontation which resulted in Budha hitting the complainant with a stone once on the mouth.
The complainant sustained injuries including three broken teeth, a lacerated and bruised upper lip and a bruised lower lip.
Passing judgment, the magistrate sentenced Budha to 15 months imprisonment with 10 months suspended and the remaining 5 months were suspended on condition that she performs 420 hours of community service.
