MIDLANDS – Kwekwe United strengthened their title hopes with a convincing 2-0 victory over Chapungu on Sunday.
The win keeps Kwekwe United three points ahead of second-placed Tongogara, who defeated Bishopstone 1-0.
Kwekwe United now sit atop the league table with 65 points, while Tongogara are in second place with 62 points.
Meanwhile, Sheasham fell further off the pace after drawing 0-0 against MSU.
In other matches, FCPlatinum U19 defeated Beitbridge FC 3-1, Black Eagles and Shabanie Mine played out a goalless draw, and Blanket Mine and West Nicholson also shared the points in a 0-0 stalemate.
Tongogara edged out Bishopstone 1-0, and ZRP Gwanda were awarded a 3-0 walkover victory over Wangu Mazodze City.
Dulibadzimu United secured a 1-0 win over Dinson Mvuma, while Gokwe North FC had a bye.
The results keep the title race tight, with Kwekwe United and Tongogara battling for the top spot.
Sheasham’s draw against MSU has opened the door for the two teams at the summit to pull away.
