KWEKWE– A self-styled Kwekwe prophet and his accomplice were on Monday left with egg on their faces after being unmasked for staging a fake witchcraft incident at his shrine.

Midlands Province ZRP spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko.

Madzibaba Brighton Muroyi (19) known by locals as “Heavynisher” for his alleged miraculous powers, was arrested along with his accomplice Revai Kweza (45) of Mkoba 18, Gweru.

The two were caught trying to portray Kweza as a trapped witch at Muroyi’s shrine in Mbizo 3, Kwekwe.

According to the Midlands province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the incident occurred on February 17, 2025 at around 8 a.m.

In the script, Kweza was found seated inside a locked and gated house near Muroyi’s shrine, dressed in a black skin-tight outfit, black bra and black dress.

“A crowd of people gathered after hearing the ‘mysterious’ news,” Mahoko said.

During police interviews, Kweza implicated Muroyi, revealing that the two had hatched a plan to increase the prophet’s fame and following.

Mahoko said WhatsApp messages between the two, detailing their planned activities and the payment due to Kweza, were found on their phones.

The senior police official urged the public to conduct thorough background checks before seeking the services of self-proclaimed prophets.
