Karidza’s grave turn haunts Alpha Cottages

Masvingo City– The late Alpha Cottages Children’s Home superintended, Brighton Karidza is haunting the institution as the executor has tabled a whopping $10 400 claim against the home for unpaid salaries.

 The matter came to light following an SOS which was posted in a whatsapp group urgently appealing for $800 donations to pay for a lawyer to appeal against the 2023 Labour Court ruling which awarded the late Kadridza $10 400 for unpaid salaries.

Karidza was employed as superintended at the home for 12 years and claimed that he was not paid for leave days and salaries over the years in question.

 “We have only 14 days from 21 July 2025 to appeal to the High Court. If we fail, the Messenger of Court will attach the Home’s property putting the lives of our orphans and vulnerable children at great risk.

“We urgently need USD 800.00 for our lawyer to file the appeal. We are appealing for donations legal fees” reads the message posted on wahtsapp.

Kudakwashe Karidza is the applicant in his capacity as executor dative for estate late B. Karidza according to papers in possession of The Midweek Watch.

The matter was taken to a labour officer and a ruling was made dated May 4, 2023.This is the ruling the applicant seeks to register for enforceability.

Alpha Cottages survives on donations from well wishers and philanthropists.
