The Maranda community has been plunged into mourning following the passing on of Gogo Matavire real name Mafirechuma Makanani, mother to the late wordsmith and top musician Paul ‘Dr Love’ Matavire.
The sad news was confirmed by Chivi Rural District Council Chief Executive Officer, Tariro Matavire a brother to the late Hit Machine lead singer.
Tariro Matavire told The Midweek Watch that Gogo Matavire suffered a stroke sometime this year and was being treated regularly at the hospital but her condition deteriorated in the last few days and she was promoted to glory on Sunday while at home.
“We have just laid to rest my brother here in Maranda today who died recently and another tragedy struck again. Gogo Matavire will be laid to rest on Wednesday in Maranda our home area,” said Tariro Matavire.
