A heartbreaking tragedy struck the Clipsham area in village head Mataruse’s area, under Chief Charumbira, when two children died in a fire that engulfed their homestead around 6PM on Thursday.
The victims have been identified as Ashley Muchoko (4) and Samantha Muchoko (2). According to two’s grandmother, Alice Gono, the children were inside the hut when the fire broke out. By the time neighbours noticed the flames and rushed to help, it was too late.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation as there seem to be no clear cause of the fire.
Masvingo Province deputy police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu said they are yet to receive the report.
