Tafadzwa Janyure Zimirenyika (29),was arrested by police in Ngundu on June 19, 2025, in connection with a string of 203 counts of violent crimes committed in and around Masvingo since 2023.
The suspect is believed to be behind a series of robberies, kidnappings, rapes, thefts of motor vehicles, and malicious damage to property.
According ZRP report on X handle, investigations have linked Zimirenyika to 203 cases in areas including Mwenezi, Renco, Muchakata, Ngundu, Zaka, and surrounding areas. One of the cases includes a murder incident where he allegedly struck Jacob Museva with a mattock on June 6, 2025, at Lundi Business Centre in Mwenezi. The victim had attempted to rescue a robbery victim.
Zimirenyika appeared in court and was remanded in custody until July 4, 2025.
