CHIREDZI-Prominent events organizer, Faith Mazana has revealed to The Midweek Watch that the inaugural Miss Independence Chiredzi will be held on April 15 at Madokero Gardens.
Miss Independence Chiredzi will be contested for by children from the sugar cane producing district and this is the first event to be held at district level in Masvingo Province and will be bankrolled by businesspeople from the area.
Mazana who also runs Faithsbrand said the pageant will held under the theme ‘Origin’ in reference to the first Miss Independence Chiredzi.
“We are very excited to be hosting such an event for the Chiredzi community for the first time and we would like to thank our silent sponsors from Chiredzi and the surrounding community who have put together their resources to make this event a reality.
“The event has the blessings of the political and business community and the girls are raring to go. We can promise you a memorable event and we call upon those who are serious about modelling and entertainment to attend this once in a lifetime occasion.
“For those who want to participate registration is in progress and we only need about 20 participants. Those who want to be part of the sponsors will get an opportunity to market their companies on the day,” said Mazana.
“Miss Independence Chiredzi is a platform created as a result of the need to discover, develop and display the ability and talents of the youth from the lowveld.
“My vision is to provide models, artists, fashion designers to rediscover themselves and awaken the entrepreneurial spirit in them, thereby exploring and promoting beauty and culture.
“It is also meant to value our Independence, showcase the beauty, culture, promote and uphold our core values and morals among our Zimbabwean youth,” added Mazana.
Mazana also said they have secured prizes in the form of money and in kind and they are targeting girls who are between the ages of 17 and 28 from Chiredzi District.
