Pamushana High School in Bikita District, Masvingo Province is known for its academic excellence as well as for doing the best in sporting activities.

The Reformed Church Zimbabwe run top learning institution has produced some of the country’s finest footballers in the form of Simba Nhivi, Simba Sithole, Gabriel Nyoni and Artwell Mukandi, to name just a few.

Although in sport there has been a lull in recent years, academically Pamushana is not looking back as witnessed by the performance of whiz kid, Isheanesu Ithan Dzoro who clocked 25 points from the five subjects that he sat for in the 2023 ZIMSEC A Level examinations.

The 18 year old son of a war veteran was doing Maths, Accounts, Economics, Business Studies and Statistics where he obtained straight As.

Ithan told The Midweek Watch that scoring such remarkable results was no walk in the park as he had to adhere to a 6 hour daily study routine.

“It was not easy while preparing for the exams I had to go the extra mile for me to pass, my study time ranged for six hours daily that is from 6.30pm up until 12.30 am.

“This tight schedule saw me turning a blind eye on activities such as athletics because I knew once I participate in any sporting activities I would get tired  and fail to fulfil my study routine,” added the shy top performer.

During his spare time Ithan, a Seventh Day Adventist Church devotee, said he spent much of the time in praise and worship with the school’s Scripture union group.

With high school done and dusted, Ithan said he now looks to study a combination of Information Technology and business studies at tertiary level and is looking for a scholarship to assist him in his big dreams.

At grade Ithan obtained 7 points and at O Level he smashed all family records 7 straight As and 5Bs.
