I am not fugitive of the law: Hiepeg

TONDERAI SAHARO

Businessman Naison Madyambwa, who runs one of the biggest tyre companies in the ancient city, Hiepeg has rebuffed rumours doing rounds that he has gone into hiding following his alleged fall out with his girlfriend over a US$60 000 mining claim deal which is now before the courts.

Madyambwa, who runs Hiepeg, told The Midweek Watch on the phone that he has no case to answer and is a free man.

“I am not running from the law, there is no warrant for my arrest or summons for me to appear in court  you can check with the police or the courts I have no case to answer

“I am conducting my business as usual,” he said.

Rumours were awash in the city that the businessman had skipped the border as the long arm of the law was slowly catching up with him.

The United Kingdom based woman Achidaishe Mudzingwa who is alleged to have lost her money to the businessman in a botched mining claim deal believes justice will soon be served.

“I haven’t lost hope the matter is still on. I have engaged my lawyers who are closes monitoring the case as it progresses,” she said.

Hiepeg was last month arrested for defrauding the United Kingdom based lady of nearly US$60 000 and made a cameo appearance in the court before the case was referred back to the police for further investigations.

Sources said the matter is stalling as the woman is allegedly failing to produce agreements she entered into with the businessman before she started sending money to Hiepeg for purchasing a gold mine on her behalf.
