MASVINGO-One of the oldest schools in the country, Victoria High has registered a huge increase in the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council O-Level results for 2025 as it posted 87% pass rate compared to 79.6% in 2024.

A total of 218 students sat for the exams, with 92 out of 107 males (86%) and 97 out of 111 females (87.4%) passing with 5 subjects or more. The school’s top performers include 2 students who aced 10 As and 25 students who secured 5 As and above.
In an interview with The Midweek Watch, Brighton Mugabe, Treasurer of the School Development Association, expressed pride in the students’ achievements, attributing the success to the efforts of the academic and staff.
“This improvement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers. We commend the parents for their support and encouragement,” Mugabe said.
The school administration has vowed to continue striving for excellence, aiming to achieve a 100% pass rate in the future.
The school administration led by Lovemore Chabaya has embarked on ambitious initiative to turn around the fortunes of the age old learning institution, like replacing old furniture, hostel beds, dining equipment and learners’ attitude and behaviour.
