MARONDERA-In a shocking incident, a female cop has been killed after a flying wheel that detached from a haulage truck trailer hit her while standing by the road side today in Marondera.
The Police confirmed the unfortunate incident which is similar to the one that happened at Gudyanga along Mutare-Masvingo Road four days ago which resulted in the death of a five year old girl after being hit in the head by a flying wheel that dislodged from a trailer.
“The ZRP confirms the unfortunate death of a Police officer at the 51km peg along Harare-Mutare Road when a haulage truck registration number ACZ 3265, owned by Shereni Transport, dislodged a trailer wheel.
“The wheel hit the female Police officer who was standing on the left side of the road. She passed on, on admission at Borradaile Hospital,” read the statement in the hands of The Midweek Watch.
Last week Police reported that a five-year-old girl, Marvellous Mhlanga, was fatally struck by a detached rear wheel from a haulage truck’s trailer along Mutare-Masvingo Highway near Gudyanga Primary School.
