MASVINGO- Masvingo province is set to host the 19th edition of the Sanganai /Hlanganani World Tourism Expo in 2026, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Barbara Rwodzi has said.
Rwodzi who officiated at Dr Amai’s provincial cookout competitions at Masvingo Poly Technical College said the event has shifted from being held in Bulawayo and Harare to enhance the profiling and rebranding of all provinces.
“Going forward, the Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo will be held on a rotational basis across the 10 provinces .This will enhance the profiling and rebranding of the respective provinces for tourism, trade and investment promotion.
“This year’s edition of the expo has been shifted from Bulawayo to Manicaland in Mutare from 10 to 12 September, 2025 at Mutare Sports Club and Masvingo will be hosting the event in 2026,” she said.
She said by rotating the expo, government seeks to promote investment opportunities in all the provinces.
“By decentralising major events, Government seeks to stimulate economic growth across the country.
“We aim to leave a lasting legacy in the hosting province by improving infrastructure and boosting its profile as a prime tourism destination. This aligns with the President’s vision of equitable development across all regions,” she said.
The Sanganai/ Hlanganani Expo attracts international buyers, tourism leaders and domestic travelers, creating opportunities for local businesses.
The event is a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).
Last year’s event in Bulawayo featured 453 exhibitors and 100 international buyers.
