GWERU- The High Court circuit has made significant strides in the Midlands province with judges successfully clearing 500 murder cases since January this year.

The milestone achievement comes at a time when murder cases are on the increase particularly in mining areas doted across the vast Midlands province.
This year’s clearance marks a great improvement from 104 murder cases cleared by the High Court circuit last year.
Speaking during a recent Fast Track Courts Training workshop in Harare, Prosecutor General Loyce Matanda Moyo commented the judges who presided over cases in Gweru and Gokwe for their exceptional performance in addressing the backlog of murder cases in the province.
“Fast Track does not mean shortcut. It means strategic readiness, ethical conduct and respect for due process. I want to comment the judges who presided over cases of murder in the Midlands province. They successfully cleared the backlog of murder cases in the region,” she said.
