The trial of businessman who runs Hiepeg Tyres and Suspension, Naison Madyambwa who is facing allegations of defrauding a UK based woman US$59 000 failed to kick off at the Masvingo Magistrate’s court on Wednesday.

Naison Madyambwa who runs Hiepeg arguably the biggest tyre company in Masvingo, allegedly duped Achidaishe Mudzingwa of US$59 000 after promising her that he could secure a gold mine claim for her.

The gullible Mudzingwa sent the money via World Remit, but Madyambwa allegedly converted the money into his own personal use, mainly buying new fleet for his transport business.

However, some sources said the woman in question is bitter after Madyambwa ditched her and she is out to fix him.

Mudzingwa became evasive when the Midweek Watch contacted her for a comment.

Sources at the Masvingo magistrate court said the case failed to kick off for the second time as the investigating police officers are failing to provide incriminating evidence for the trial to commence.

“We cannot prosecute a half baked case. There are some missing details which the police should provide to form part of the evidence for the trial to commence.

“We referred it back to the police for further investigations, there are a lot of inconsistencies. For example there is no written agreement between the two parties that shows that the man was receiving money to buy a gold claim,” said the source.
