MIDWEEK REPORTER
HEADLANDS-MILDRED KIMU (60) who was staying alone at Plot 28 Fairfield in Headlands was found dead in her room on Wednesday last week by her neighbor, Doydo Kadavhurunga (56).
Kimu’s husband and children died a long time ago according to Manicaland Province police acting spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka.
Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that on February 11 at around 8:25pm Doydo went to Kimu’s house to pen goats as usual.
The following day Doydo, on his way to his fields decided to pass through Kimu’s house.
Doydo became curios when he failed to get any response as he made his presence felt or see the deceased, he decided to check the kitchen door which was partially open.
As he opened the door he found the deceased lying on the floor and went on to inform Kimu’s young sister, Betty Kore (56) who alerted other villagers of the incident and a report was made at Headlands police.
Kimu’s body was taken to Rusape General Hospital for postmortem.
The police is appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the person who committed the crime.
