-to compile comprehensive report
MIDWEEK REPORTER
HARARE- The Master in Harare has summoned executor of the late Simbarashe Huni’s estate, Kumbirai Mugwazi for an urgent special meeting after one of the widows accused the him of allegedly stealing beneficiaries’ funds.
The urgent meeting has been slated for Thursday this week in Harare where the complainant has also been invited to appear as well through a letter signed today (13/2/23) by one D. Dube on behalf of the Master, which is in our possession.
Gutu called for the meeting following two letters of complains written by Huni’s widow, Trish Mashiri against Mugwazi and the Master of the High Court in Masvingo, Hazvineyi Pasvani in December and January respectively.
“Reference is made to letter dated 19 December 2022. Further reference is made to letter dated 18 January 2023 from Ms Mashiri wherein she expressed disgruntlement in the way estate affairs are being handled.
“In view of the complains and allegations being levelled, we have convened an urgent special meeting on the 16th of February 2023 at 10:00am to iron out the issues raised,” reads the letter.
Huni, a former senior operative died in 2021 at the height of COVID-19 and left behind two wives, two children and a vast estate which included farms, houses and vehicles.
Meanwhile, Mugwazi confirmed that he appeared before a panel appointed by the Master last Thursday in Harare and said all the matters are now being handled by the Master of the High Court.
Sources who attended the meeting told The Midweek Watch the Mugwazi was asked to compile a comprehensive report after he failed to explain satisfactorily some of the deductions made on the estate and the alleged disappearance of a mine owned by the late Huni.
