Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) is mourning the passing on of Professor Jemitas Mapira, who died at his home last night.
GZU Director of Information and Public Relations Anderson Chipatiso confirmed the death.
In a circular in possession of The Midweek Watch, Chipatiso said ,”Dear Colleagues, it is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Professor Jemitias Mapira of the School of Natural Sciences, who died at his home last night.
Professor Mapira was a distinguished member of the Department of Geography and Environmental Science.
Details regarding funeral and burial arrangements will be communicated as soon as they are available.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, students, and all who had the privilege of working with him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
