Gweru scoops parastatals service provider award

GWERU-City of Gweru has been crowned the Best Parastatals Service Providers at the just ended 2023 Midlands Show Society held last weekend.

The award was presented by Agricultural Rural Development Authority board chairperson, Evan Craig who officially opened the agricultural show.

The award was in honor of the local authority for its outstanding displaying in line with the theme at the provincial multi-sectoral showcase.

The award for the city of progress was under the Parastatals Service Providers category which saw the local authority walking away with a golden medal, a shield and a certificate.

In an interview with The Midweek Watch, council spokesperson, Vimbai Chingwaramusee said the local authority is happy to be honored with such a prestigious award.

“We are happy we managed to brand our stand well inline with the exhibition’s theme, ‘Collaborative, innovative solutions in line with economic development’. Being honoured for our exhibition’s branding we are very excited,” said Chingwaramusee.

The local authority also ran a “clear your bill and win” promotion during the agricultural show in a bid to encourage residents to clear their bills to improve service provision.

The agricultural show ran under the theme; “Collaborative, Integrative, Solutions for Economic Development”, with the Public Service Commission (PSC) scooping the overall exhibitor Award.

Various organizations were also honored in 26 exhibition categories.
