GWERU-A constable stationed at Mkoba 1 Police Station in Gweru allegedly committed suicide by drinking poison yesterday for yet to be known reasons.
The police officer, only identified as Constable Claude Jeje left a suicide note before taking the poison.
Ketias Mapfumo, a nephew to the deceased who appeared in the suicide note confirmed the tragedy loss in an interview.
“Yes, I can confirm the incident. He committed suicide yesterday by drinking poison. His body is currently at Gweru Provincial Hospital mortuary whilst we prepare to take him to his rural place in Zaka for burial,” he said.
