MILLICENT HUNGWE
The Gwazira family which had their houses razed down by an arsonist and a family member murdered in gruesome attack have gone into hiding.

The Midweek Watch visited some of the family members who fled to Masvingo City, and are now staying in the R Section of Mucheke with some relatives.
“We left our homestead in a huff and the only things that we took with us are the clothes we were putting on, we didn’t get the chance to collect anything as we were fearing for our lives.
“The man had turned into a vicious animal threatening anyone who would come near him,” said a distraught Johnson Gwazira who fled with his two children, a girl (14) and boy (10).
At the relative in Mucheke there are seven Gwazira family members who fled their homes who are hiding there and the others are with other relatives in Masvingo Rural.
Meanwhile, painful details have emerged from Machingambi village under Chief Mugabe in Masvingo Rural following the alleged murder of Liliosa Gwenhamo (34) by her husband Morgen Gwazira (33) on Sunday.

Most of the Gwazira family members have been left homeless with scores of children not attending school for fear of being attacked.
The couple’s children, aged between 3 and 13, have now taken refuge in Masvingo and look very traumatized after witnessing their mother being killed in cold blood.
The eldest, a Grade 7 pupil, painfully recalled the tragic events, saying, “When I saw dad coming home with a sack, I could sense something was wrong on his face.
“His eyes were red and face had changed and he was wet all over the body
“He entered the kitchen, called us all inside, accused mom of cheating with his young brother, and began hitting her with a brick in the head while she was outside.
“I begged him to stop, she tried to run away, but he tripped her down with his leg and hit her with a brick, then he took an axe and hit her with the back of the axe head, that’s when we ran for our lives.”
The four fled to Manyama using the $10 their mother had given them for the grinding mill which the eldest son had not returned after their grandfather ground the maize meal for free.
There are rumours circulating that the suspect who is on the run once murdered someone in Harare and the spirit of that person is haunting him.
Johnson Gwazira (52), told The Midweek Watch that Morgen used firewood, petrol, and battery acid to burn Liliosa’s body, reducing it to ashes with only a leg remaining.
He added that Morgen was seen putting more firewood while guarding the Liliosa’s burning body.
He also went on to torch 7 huts belonging to other family members including his 2 huts before fleeing into the bush.
“We need food, clothes, blankets, school fees, and shelter for the children,” said Johnson.
Sophia Dumbu, a concerned relative in care of the family, also pleaded for support and justice.
“These children are traumatized. They’ve lost everything. We need assistance, food, blankets, school fees for the 6 children including the 2 children of Johnson Gwazira, and the suspect must be brought to justice.”
The family has called on the public and well-wishers to step in and help rebuild the lives shattered by this unimaginable tragedy.
There are reports that Morgen was seen in the neighbourhood on Tuesday and threatened villagers who wanted to confront him.
