Trained vaccinators will visit homes, schools, and community centers to administer two oral drops of the polio vaccine to all children under 10 years old.

As parents and guardians, it’s essential to be aware of the pressing health risk facing our children in Zimbabwe.

The Midweek Watch confirmed that recent polio outbreak and detection of circulating poliovirus variants in our environment have put our children at high risk of contracting poliomyelitis, a highly dangerous disease.

Polio can cause lifelong paralysis of legs, hands, and even death. The outbreak in Zimbabwe and neighboring countries has increased the risk of infection, making it crucial to take immediate action.

However, there is hope, vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from polio.
