Gruesome murder as nephew slits open grandpa’s throat in full view of villagers

MASVINGO- Villagers in Chelele under Chief Gezani in Chikombedzi, Chiredzi District were left shell shocked after they were forced  to watch a 29 year old man killing his grandfather by cutting his throat open.

Tsuvani Hasani (70) from Chelele Village  died in a gruesome cold blooded murder on February  10 around  8am  following an unknown misunderstanding with his nephew, Advance Chihandale.

Masvingo  Provincial  Police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed  the  incident saying the neighbours failed to stop the fight because Chihandale was extremely violent such that they failed to apprehend him.

Dhewa reiterated that  people should refrain from using violence as a means of solving differences.

“We do not know what caused the misunderstanding  between the deceased  and his nephew, however we continue to encourage that whenever a misunderstanding  arise among people, they should seek a third part or other  means of engagement  to resolve  their misunderstandings  than resorting to violence,” said Dhewa.

The circumstances  are that on February 10 at around 8am the deceased  and his nephew were sitting  outside the house when a misunderstanding  arose  between them.

The two started fighting and the accused rushed to the yard hedge and grabbed a pole and started to flog his grandfather all over the  body.

The deceased fell down on his face upon which Chihandale set on top of him withdrew  an okapi knife from his track bottom and cut his grandfather’s neck with it.

The matter  was reported to the Police leading to Chihandale’s arrest.

The deceased  had deep cut on his throat and a broken right hand forearm.
