MBERENGWA-They are on a mission! ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2 club, Great Dyke FC registered an emphatic 3-1 victory over All Stars Somabula FC to maintain their 100% record in the third-tier league.

The match was played at Education Stadium in Mberengwa last Sunday.

The Serengeto Boys got their goals from Olla Jezi who scored a brace and Louis Nyamadzawo to claim six points in their opening two matches.

They secured a 1-0 victory over rivals Mbesa FC in their opening fixture with Alexander Hall scoring the goal that separated the Mberengwa District based teams.

Great Dyke affectionately known as the Serengeto Boys by their followers was formed in 2021 and has the vision to gain promotion into the Premier Soccer League by 2025.

This means that this year their ultimate goal is to gain promotion into the ZIFA Central Region Division 1 and the win against local rivals is exactly what the doctor ordered to accomplish their mission.

Great Dyke FC manager, Ashel Gutu said the team played well and scored three goals which shows they are in the right direction and will keep on pushing to maintain the momentum.

“We won our first two matches home and away from home, our next assignment is in Gweru and there is need for more focus as we know very little about our opponents,” said Gutu.

Great Dyke FC are away to Midlands FC in their next fixture during the weekend.
