SILOBELA-A 74 year old Silobela woman fell into a well while cleaning the well surroundings, Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the sad incident to The Midweek Watch.
“ZRP confirms investigating a case of drowning which occurred on 13 September 2023 around 11am at Village Masukume under Chief Silobela.
“People are encouraged to take safety precautions during whatever they will be doing at all times,” said Mahoko.
Laiza Mdawini (74) was cleaning the surroundings of the well when she fell into the body which is about 10 metres deep.
She was retrieved from the well while she was still alive but died before she could be rushed to hospital.
The matter was reported to the police who attended the scene and ferried the deceased to Kwekwe District Hospital mortuary
