Grace is getting what you don’t deserve, mercy isn’t having what you deserve

Date:

Favor, Grace and Mercy are three words that are commonly used in our prayers. Mercy is God not punishing us as our sins deserve. Grace is God blessing us in spite of our unworthiness.

Favour is the tangible evidence that a person has the approval of the Lord. This is the main difference between favour, grace, and mercy. Although favour and mercy can be used interchangeably on some occasions, mercy and grace refer to two different things. Grace is God giving us something we do not deserve, and mercy is God not giving us something (negative) we deserve.

Favour means God stepping into one’s situation to make a worthwhile difference. Favour is the highway to connect your destiny. In Genesis 6:8, the Bible says: “But Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

Grace is the free and unmerited blessings of God. In other words, grace is the unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification. God shows us grace, even when we don’t deserve it. Grace and favor are not earned by good work; they are entirely the work of God’s goodness.

there are two types of graces: common grace and saving grace.

Common grace is the God’s grace towards every human being. This includes the provision of food and essentials, the beauty of creation and every good thing that happens to people. Saving grace is God’s grace that provides salvation to a person whereas, Mercy is the God’s compassion and forgiveness.

The punishment a person deserves is not given to that person due to God’s mercy. To deserve God’s mercy, we must be humble and accept and repent our sins.

God’s mercy is his tender-hearted, loving compassion for his people. It is his tenderness of heart toward the needy. If grace contemplates humans as sinful, guilty, and condemned, mercy sees them as miserable and needy.” Mercy can also be described as deliverance from judgment.

When you are connected to favour, you are connected to good and grace. Favour and grace with mercy, are all interwoven to one another. A man cannot amount to anything in life without divine connection. It is he that is loved of God that obtain God’s favour. When you are under grace, economic situation of your environment will not have any effect on you.

Even when you are in an environment that is hostile, when God’s favour is upon you, you will be distinguished. One of the key things you greatly require to enjoy God’s favor is, you must love God and do His will.

Favor can also be referred to as exceptional kindness and privilege from God.

Everyone  that Saul lost via his carelessness and disobedience to God’s instructions , it is the least person that by human standard cannot be seen to enjoy favor from God.

Remember Mephibosheth is the grandson of Saul (Jonathan’s son). When favour locates a man, God does not look at your challenges, God does not look at your position, God does not look at the situation around you.

One thing I want you to know is that, when God’s favour is upon you, you will gain access to the palace and when you gain access to the palace, you will see the face of the king, and when you see the face of the king, you will always return with your miracle.

Favour also can be termed: it is about people flocking around your shop to purchase items above your competitors. God’s favour upon Noah exempted him and his household from the flood, David was defended from King Saul’s death sentence. Favour is a defense. God’s favour upon you will defend you against poverty, lack and want. When you are favoured by God nothing will make you fail even when there is failure written all over you, you will gracefully succeed
