GOKWE – A 33-year-old woman has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Republic Police on allegations of assaulting a 10-year-old girl and draining her blood.
According to the Midlands province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the incident occurred on May 26, 2025, at around 10am in Gokwe Town.
The suspect, identified as Mavis Sibanda, allegedly called the young girl who was passing by her market stall and then proceeded to inject her with a needle.
Insp Mahoko said Sibanda was arrested after the report was made to the police and she is held in custody while investigations continue.
Insp Mahoko added that the case is being taken seriously, and the police are working diligently to gather all the necessary evidence and information to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.
