GOKWE-In a landmark ruling that echoes the nation’s call for justice during a High Court circuit in Gokwe, Judge Munamato Mutevedzi has sentenced two men to life in jail for the cold blooded murder of a couple.
The couple, Kenneth Pedzisai Chirasha and Lorna Chirasha, were brutally murdered by Collins Jongwe and Stephen Matenganyika in their own home on Valentine’s Day, 2024.
According to court proceedings, Collins and Stephen stormed at the couple’s homestead and demanded cash before insulting them.
The court heard that Kenneth was strangled with a black electric cable and struck with a pick while his wife was bludgeoned with a shovel.
Incriminating evidence linked the two accused persons to the crime including the victim’s national identity card, US$400 with matching serial numbers and removed vehicle plates all found in Jongwe’ s possession.
