MASVINGO-Gokomere High School has recorded an impressive 98.6 percent pass rate in the 2025 A Level Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC), reflecting the institution’s strong academic performance.

A total of 72 candidates, comprising 38 boys and 34 girls, sat for the examinations. Of these, 71 candidates passed at least two subjects while one candidate passed a single subject with no outright failures recorded.
The results show that 44 candidates achieved 10 points and above while 14 candidates attained 15 points and above. In addition, 30 learners scored eight points and above, underlining consistent performance across the candidate pool.
The highest score recorded was 20 points, achieved by six candidates.
Confirming the results to The Midweek Watch, Gokomere High School head Emmanuel Muvengi said female candidates recorded a 100 percent pass rate with all 34 girls passing at least two subjects. He added that male candidates registered a 97.4 percent pass rate, with 37 out of 38 boys passing two or more subjects.
Performance across subject groupings was also notable, with 30 candidates achieving 10 points and above in Sciences, 13 in commercial subjects, and 11 in arts subjects.
The strong performance cements Gokomere High School’s position as one of the leading academic institutions, reflecting the commitment of learners, educators and school authorities to academic excellence.
