GWERU-GoBeer Brewery, one of the largest opaque beer manufacturers in the Midlands province, plans to optimize its production capabilities to reach its monthly target of 450,000 liters.

Gweru City Council officials at the Go Beer plant.

Currently operating at 65% capacity, the brewery is producing approximately 70-75% of its monthly target.

According to Marie Anne Matandirotya, the Public Relations Manager, the brewery is committed to ramping up production to meet the growing consumer demand.

“We are actively working to enhance our output, as demand continues to grow,” Matandirotya stated.

She said that despite occasional stock-outs during peak periods, GoBeer Breweries prioritizes its key clients and is implementing several strategies to improve product availability and delivery efficiency.

These strategies include optimizing production schedules, partnering with reliable suppliers, recruiting additional staff, and exploring short-term packaging support.

The goal is not only to boost output but also to streamline operations, she said.

Matandirotya added that with expansion on the horizon, the company plans to upgrade its equipment, increase storage, and add a second production shift.

This move is expected to further accelerate the brewery’s output, while the distribution network has been expanded to new delivery routes in Gokwe, Zvishavane, Shurugwi, Mvuma, and Kwekwe.

“Our team has grown from 50 to 75 employees, and we expect further expansion, especially in production and logistics,” Matandirotya noted.

Despite facing challenges such as infrastructure gaps and procurement delays, GoBeer Brewery remains committed to addressing these issues through investment, training, and process improvements.

“We are addressing these challenges to ensure we keep up with rising demand,” added Matandirotya.

The beer manufacturer company started hitting the market before Christmas, and the expansion strategies are poised to solidify its position as a leading player in Zimbabwe’s beer market.

Recently, the brewing company applied to the City of Gweru to run the Zaire beer hall in Mkoba to enhance its presence in the city of progress.
