GWERU-Blessed Runesu Bombshell Geza’s threats to topple the Government have allegedly forced the postponement of the annual Commissioner General of Police 21km road race that was slated for this Saturday and many other events across the country.
Bombshell has been taking to social media to issue statements demanding the resignation of President Mnangagwa for allegedly failing to rein in corruption which he says is destroying the economy.
A number of church based and national events scheduled for this weekend have been suspended as the nation awaits the outcome of Geza’s threats for a demonstration against the government on March 31.
The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services has also suspended the Commissioner general Goodwill Trust fund raising golf tournament which was supposed to be held in Masvingo on Friday March 28.
A source in the police said all emergency security systems have been put on standby for any eventuality hence the cancellation of the annual marathon and many other events.
A church service scheduled for Hippodrome Braeside on Friday evening in Harare has been cancelled including the live broadcast on Goodnews World TV as threats of Geza march get louder.
The 21km marathon sponsored by insurance giant Old Mutual was supposed to take place at Mkoba Teacher’s College.
Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the development.
“We sincerely regret to advise that our race which was slated for Saturday, 29 March 2025 at Mkoba Teachers College, has been postponed to a later date to be advised.
“Once again, please accept our sincere apologies. We thank you always for your unending support,” he said.
