…as health director gets US$40k vehicle.

GWERU CITY- The City of Gweru has today commissioned three Nissan Navara trucks, One Ford Ranger Forester and four tractors which were supplied by Duly’s as part of Council’s efforts to boost service delivery.
Gweru City Mayor, Cllr Hamutendi Kombayi said the procurement of the vehicles has taken Council to another level in service provision for the residents.
At the same ceremony, the Director of Health Services, Samson Sekenhamo also took delivery of a US$40 000 Ford Everest as part of his conditions of service.
“We are here commissioning the vehicles which we bought to improve service provision to the residents. Now that we have these vehicles we look forward to see swift responses to the problems affecting the residents like sewer blockages.

“We must witness changes on our roads since the tipper truck is now there, lets push for development for our City.” he added
Gweru City Council Acting Town Clerk, Livingstone Churu also said, the three trucks and the tractors were bought to enable effective service provision
“These vehicles were bought and supplied by Duly’s as approved by the Government. We have three trucks one is being allocated to the Department of Finance, the other is going to housing and the other will be used by the office of the Town Clerk for the time being as he has no vehicle.
“Two tractors are going to the Health Department, these are the 90horse power tractors, while one of the two 75 horse powers will be allocated to the Housing Department and the other to the Engineering Department.

“We have managed to secure a vehicle for Director Sekenhamo, as part of his condition of service, we are also going to have other vehicles for remaining directors so that we fulfill their contractual agreements. We could buy these vehicles at once, but we will.be buying one at time as we buy service vehicles as well,” he added.
