A Form 4 student at Mazambara High School in Masvingo province was fatally stabbed by a classmate following a dispute over the beating of the accused’s younger brother.
Isaac Denhere (19) from Village Zvokuenda under Chief Zimuto allegedly confronted Anesu Madhara (18) from Sedeya village under the same chief over the beating of his younger brother.
The two, in the company of four other classmates, left the school premises and got into a fight about 25 meters away from the school premises. Denhere allegedly drew an okapi knife and stabbed Madhara in the abdomen.
Madhara was rushed to Zimuto Clinic, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Denhere was later arrested by the police and is expected to appear in court soon.
Masvingo province police spokesperson, Kudakwashe Dhewa, confirmed the incident, saying investigations were underway.
