The organization, which is a broad-based network of social movements, women’s rights groups, faith-based organisations, labour unions and individuals, is committed to challenging and reversing the unfair distribution of wealth, power, opportunities, social status, access and control of resources in Zimbabwe.

Speaking during the consultations which were running under the theme ‘draw the red line against inequality’, Nimrod Nyakudyano, the training officer from the organization, emphasized the need for citizens to be aware of their rights and to demand accountability from duty bearers.

“Inequality is a major challenge facing our country, and it is essential that citizens are aware of their rights and demand accountability from those in power. We are calling on citizens to join us in the fight against inequality and to demand a more just and equitable distribution of resources,” said Nyakudyano.

He also noted that the consultations were part of the organization’s efforts to do awareness to the citizens about the need to address inequality and to mobilize them to take action.

“We believe that by working together, we can create a more just and equitable society where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive,” he said.

The Fight Inequality Alliance Zimbabwe is part of the global movement to address inequality, and the organization is calling on citizens to join them in the fight against inequality.

The organization is also advocating for policy changes that promote greater equality and justice, including the introduction of a wealth tax, the abolition of unjust tax incentives, and the strengthening of consumer protection regulations.
