CHIREDZI- A 34 year old rapist father from Village Mutiusinazita under Chief Mazetese in Mwenezi has been slapped with 20 years in jail by Chiredzi Regional Magistrate, Vimbai Mutukwa for rapping his 15 year old daughter.
The circumstances were that on 11 February 2024 at around 2000hrs, the rapist father entered her daughter’s bedroom and took a whip under her bed then ordered her to go to the kitchen.
In the kitchen he accused her daughter of being involved with many boyfriends, when she denied he proposed to check if she was still a virgin in the granary.
While in the granary he pushed her daughter to the ground, pinned both her hands and legs and raped her.
Despite being threatened not to tell anyone, she told her mother about the incident the following day leading to a police report being filed.
The rapist father was sentenced to 20years with 2 years being suspended for five years.
