In an incident that has become the talk of the Mutasa community in Manicaland a father allegedly killed his daughter by hitting her with a mulberry switch after accusing her of sleeping with their neighbour.
National Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the death of Rufaro Nyamangodo on Friday last week.
Nyathi said the father, Amos Rutendo Nyamangodo has since been arrested for alleged murder of his daughter whom he bit up on December 23 this year.
“Police in Nyanga have arrested Amos Rutendo Nyamangodo in connection with a case of murder in which his daughter, Rufaro Nyamangodo (14) died on 29/12/23 after allegedly being hit with a mulberry tree switch all over the body on 23/12/23 at Mangwanda Village, Mutasa, Honde Valley.
“The suspect had allegedly accused the victim of having an affair with a neighbour,” said Nyathi in a statement released today.
