An accident occurred on October 26th at around 8:10pm along Harare-Mutare road, resulting in the loss of two lives.

Manicaland Province Police acting spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed that Reginald Hwata (38), a resident of 1233 Baobab Waterfalls in Harare, was behind the wheel of his BMW when the fatal crash happened.

Hwata was traveling with four passengers, including Letween Hwata (37) and Tinotenda.

As they approached the 145km peg near Mhandara Business Centre, Hwata lost control of the vehicle while allegedly speeding.

Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said that the car veered off the left side of the road, overturned multiple times, and landed on its roof.

Police rushed to the scene and took the injured passengers to Rusape General Hospital, where Letween was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The vehicle was towed to VID Rusape for inspection.

Chinyoka urged motorists to always observe speed limits on the road in order to be able to stop in the event of an emergency.
